Insurance Solicitor

Opportunities exist for lawyers with 2-3 years PAE to work in a team environment with leading practitioners in our Insurance practice.

Ideally, suitable candidates will possess a working knowledge of the NSW Local, District and Supreme Courts together with strong legal drafting skills. In addition, they will have knowledge of the Trade Practices Act, Insurance Contracts Act, Corporations Law and the Civil Liability Act.

The suitable candidate will have experience in running a largely litigated practice relating to public liability, product liability, property damage claims, policy interpretation and general policy advice. The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, attend Court, instruct Counsel and undertake the day to day management of files is an essential requirement of this role. The successful candidates will have sound written and verbal communication skills, the ability to use their initiative and work effectively as part of a team.

IT Helpdesk Analyst with 2-3 years experience

 

McCabe Terrill is a specialist law firm providing innovative solutions for business. Our services extend to a diverse clientele in the commercial, insurance and government spheres.

An opportunity is available for a full-time IT Helpdesk Analyst to join our Management team in the Sydney office, providing IT Helpdesk support to the business as well as administrative assistance to the IT Manager. You will be delivering a high level of customer service to our large team of lawyers and support staff, prioritising, troubleshooting and resolving incidents based on urgency and business impact. This is a hands-on role in which you will gain exposure to a wide range of technologies. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing Level 1 and Level 2 IT support of Windows operating systems and core business applications including Microsoft Office 2007
  • Responding to incoming telephone and email Helpdesk queries
  • Keeping users informed on the progress of their requests
  • Performing workstation builds, software installations and system configuration upgrades as directed by the IT Manager
  • User account administration with Active Directory and MS Exchange
  • Assisting the IT Manager with ongoing projects and tasks
  • Liaising with 3rd party hardware suppliers and software support providers
  • Daily administration of backup jobs
  • Maintaining a knowledge base of common IT tasks and fixes 

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar helpdesk support role
  • MCP certification or related tertiary qualification desirable
  • Windows Server 2003/2008 experience
  • Experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange
  • Experience supporting document management systems desirable
  • An understanding of basic networking – DHCP/DNS/TCP-IP
  • An understanding of virtualisation technologies such as VMWare and Citrix Xenserver
  • Experience with Windows Remote Desktop Services
  • Ability to automate Windows tasks using scrips an advantage but not essential
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Clear and accurate English language communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Meticulous organisational skills and an eye for detail 
  • A high level of initiative
